Ping Tom Memorial Park Awards

Phase I of Ping Tom Memorial Park was completed in the fall of 1999 and dedicated by Mayor Daley in October of that year.  Since that time when a desolate abandoned Railway Property was converted into a beautiful landscaped area with children's playground, the Park has been heavily utilized by the residents of Chinatown and the Near South Community. Senior Citizens have used the facilities for their morning Tai chi Exercise; fishermen have been fishing off the pier and the Youngsters have really enjoyed the modern up-to-date playground.

It has been recognized as a "Pearl" of the Chicago Park District and has received many Awards:
